Many people think building a dropshipping website is complicated and time-consuming. Personally, I thought this too. But, once you get it up, it’s actually one of the simplest online business ideas ever. Stick around and I’ll walk you through the entire process from scratch.

Why dropshipping is a great way to make money.

Today, so many people are setting up drop shipping stores. But Why? Because it's an extremely flexible business model. You can set your own hours and work around your schedule, you can work when you want and where you want, and you get to set your own prices. Choose a niche

So, when you start an online store, you want to choose a niche. In my experience, the niches that do really well are those that have products that cater to an activity that someone is frequently doing ( like cooking, smoking, or hiking), the ones that do second best are products that cater to a problem some are frequently dealing with like ( acne,or being overweight)

If you have no idea what niche or product to choose, I would recommend visiting wholesale2b.com and go through their catalog of dropship vendors. The account with them is free, and you can browse through the vendor categories, products and look at their wholesale pricing. Take this information and google some of the products that you see in their catalog.This will help you get a good idea of the kind of profit you can make dropshipping.

Choosing a product provider

I personally like wholesale2b.com because for only $50/mo they will do everything for you, and set you up with the products in 1day, no web designer, merchant accounts or hosting needed.

If you do the $30/mo, they allow you access to their dropship vendor catalog to plug into your wordpress, shopify or bigcommerce store, but you have to do everything else yourself. If you don’t want to do any of these options, you’ll have to find vendors by yourself and contact them to apply for their dropship program, manually.

Choosing a domain / web hosting provider

If you decide to do everything yourself, the next step is to make sure your accounts are active with the vendors and ask them for their products. Once you’ve been accepted into a dropship program, you’ll need to buy a domain name and get web hosting. I prefer wordpress because it’s easy to set up and the website name and hosting can be purchased in a bundle pack from bluehost.

Choose a payment gateway

Once you’ve got your name and web hosting, you need to choose a way to get paid. You can integrate paypal checkout, stripe or square into your website. I like Square the most because they’re platform also allows you to accept payments via email, over the phone or on the go. The account is free, so hold onto this information and give it to your web designer in the next step.

Choose a web designer

Now at this step, you want to go to Fiverr.com and search for a wordpress designer. You can type this in the search bar, or even search specifically for dropship website designers. You’ll want to filter it to people who can complete your project within 3 days. After that you can browse the offerings and contact the designers to get a final price on what you want.

Choosing a logo

Since you are starting your own brand, selling other people’s products in your store, you’re going to need your own branding and logo. 99designs has a brand identity pack that will get you started right away.

Choosing an email marketing service

Right away you’re going to want to start building a list of potential customers and send out coupons. Make sure you sign up with an email service provider. I like constant contact because they have email marketing automation tools that will give you some time back out of your day. Everything is drag and drop and super easy to use.

Creating your store

Once your store is all set up, you’re ready to start selling. Don’t forget to set up your store's social media pages. That’s where you’ll be able to share your products and generate sales. You can and should also be advertising on google ads and youtube as well.
