How to make a website for booking appointments
Welcome back to another episode of What’s Your Game Plan! In this episode, I’m going to show you how you can get a complete website for your service business up and running in just one day. Many service based businesses don’t have a way to book appointments online, and wix makes it easy to set up. So, if you’ve got a few minutes, let’s get started.
Okay, so when you first go to Wix’s landing page, they’re going to ask you for your email address, and here’s where you’ll sign up for an account. Go ahead and click the button that says ‘get started’. Now, it’s going to ask you what kind of website you want to create. Go ahead and type in what you do or choose from the list. For this example, I’m going to choose a salon. It’s now going to ask you for the name of your website.
Type that in and fill out the form for what you need your website to do. Based upon what you type in, they will automatically recommend that you add the bookings feature and a few others. Feel free to select all the features you need. Answer the question on the next page, for this example, I will just choose this as my first time. At this point you can let Wix’s software create a website for you based on your inputs, or you can choose a template and customize it yourself. I’m going to choose a template that I like. Now, browse through what they’ve got, you can hover over them and view them individually or just select one to start editing the design.
Next, you’ll use the template as a starting point and fill it with all of your images and content. Over here on the left is the main toolbar you will use to make adjustments, add text, pictures and video to your website. On this toolbar is also a link to setup the wix bookings app. Go ahead and click that and then click ‘lets get started’.
In order to activate this feature, you have to upgrade your free website plan to a paid version. Click the upgrade to accept payments link right here inside of the panel. With this upgrade, Wix gives you your domain name free for one year, they remove the Wix ads and allow you to accept paid bookings on your website. Click the upgrade now button.
Once you get to this page, select a Business and eCommerce plan that makes the most sense for your budget. As you can see, they all include the online bookings platform for appointments, classes and courses. Now, select a billing cycle, the monthly doesn’t come with the free domain, so I’m going to choose yearly, continue to checkout, fill out this information and complete the purchase.
Once you’ve completed your purchase, you’ll be taken to:
1. Choosing a domain name
2. Choosing your hosting plan
3. Choosing your website template
4. Customize your design
5. Install the bookings app
6. Publish Your Website live
Now that your website is live, you can add the Wix Bookings to your site for free, but you must upgrade to a Business Premium Plan to accept bookings.
At the bottom of this video will be the links to the tools mentioned in this video. If this video was helpful, please leave me a comment, give it a like and share and until next time guys! Take care.
