3 reasons I use Square to pay my Independent

Contractors on Time

Square is a payment processing solution that has witnessed a lot of growth in recent times. The widespread adoption of Square can be directly linked to its ease of use and cost-effectiveness. It eliminates the middleman and charges cost-effective fees.

With Square, businesses can process the credit card payments of their customers. Square also offers payroll management solutions. I use Square to pay my independent contractors on time because I have found that it is the easiest way to pay contractors. Here are my top three reasons for using Square to pay contractors.

  • Saves time: Square Payroll for contractors processes payments seamlessly and saves time. Instead of paying independent contractors with checks and going through the associated tedious process, I use Square. Square processes the payments in seconds and handles all the details. I can pay 1099 independent contractors with Square. By tracking my payments automatically, Square can also generate and file Form 1099-MISC and save me the time I spent in this process. Businesses and organizations choose to work with independent contractors to save costs. The tedious manual process of paying the contractors is a major turn-off and could discourage working with contractors. Square Payroll for contractors was designed to automate the process and save time.

  • Simplifies payment processing: Paying independent contractors can involve many back and forth, mailing the contractors and asking for different details, especially if you need to file Form 1099-MISC. Square Payroll for contractors eliminates this back and forth, a process that can get very tedious. All independent contractors have online accounts where they provide all required details needed to process their payments. This greatly simplifies all payments as all details needed of all forms of documentation are readily available. The benefits of Square Payroll for contractors as regards simplifying payment processing also include the associated bookkeeping and operations ease. Employers and business owners do not have to bother about their account balance when the contractor tenders their checks. The direct deposit, which is offered by Square, eliminate that complicated process.

  • Saves cost: Square Payroll for contractors is a streamlined solution that allows business owners and employers to effect direct deposits without incurring significant costs. No subscription fee is attached to the product. You can get the payment solution for free. The only cost you would incur is the $5 flat fee for every contractor you pay. This means that the service is available on a form of pay-as-you-go basis. You do not pay monthly subscriptions. The cost of using Square to pay independent contractors is directly related to the transactions you carry out over time. If you pay fewer contractors in a particular period, the cost you will incur will be reduced. The more contractors you pay, the higher the costs you incur. This payment method is commendable. You wouldn’t want to pay a subscription to the solution of paying independent contractors since they are not main employees.

Finally, using Square to pay independent contractors has multiple benefits. You get to pay your contractors within seconds and deal with less documentation issues. You don’t have to break the bank to access this service too.
